The two hottest manga series are undeniably Viz Media's Naruto and Bleach .
Both have been battling it out for years in Japan and in America, and neither is willing to give up the top slots in the manga translation ratings.
Bleach is a series revolving around 15-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki. Ever since he was young, he could see the souls of the "dearly departed," and when Hallows — creatures that lack the ability to pass on and crave souls as sustenance — attack his family, he becomes the only thing that can stop them: a Soul Reaper.
While both series have similar fight scenes and suspense — enough to quench the thirst for action no matter which manga you chose — their story lines are quite different.
Naruto starts off about a boy named Naruto, and his dreams of one day becoming the Hokage, the leader of the village and the strongest Ninja of them all.
In terms of popularity, it's impossible to determine exactly what makes Naruto and Bleach so enticing, but each series has the anime world in an uproar that divides it in two.
