The sand village are attacked and outnumbered by huge golem fighters, but the village is successfully protected by their leader Gaara. Kankuro and the others help out but the enemy gets away before they can figure out who they are. Elsewhere, Naruto, Sakura and Shikamaru are entrusted with finding a ferret and taking him back to his owner. When they trap and get their creature, the hard part is getting to the village that hired them in the first place, as they get ambushed by enemies seemingly led by a mysterious blond with red eyes and heavy armour and who certainly means business. Naruto and his enemy fall from the edge of a precipice after fighting and find them selves in a tent recovering after being healed. Naruto being wiser as to whom the stranger is that attacked him and his friends.
While Naruto looks for answers, Shikamaru discovers a hidden compound where the golem enemies are interested in finding the stone of Gelel, but nothing as to what it is and why the enemy wants it. The mysterious armoured stranger remembers when his master showed him the stone of Gelel when he was younger, how important it is as its use would be to rid the world of the need for war and end all evil that comes with it.
The stranger though may be descended from the royal family of a clan that already possesses one of the Gelel stones within him, but none of the information is certain. Directed by Hirotsugu Kawasaki who directed Spriggan, this is the second movie from the highly acclaimed series Naruto and it comes to DVD on 29th December in time for frantic after Christmas buying. The second full length offering, it excels the first by far, the graphics are phenomenal, the characters are in their element in a new setting.
It is great to see Gaara back and in fighting form once again, bringing back his fantastic moves for the viewers. Naruto uses his rasengan to great effect too, but still finds out there are powerful enemies out there that he and his friends have to overcome.
"My name is Temojin. Come, I'll introduce you to master Hando…"
